Major season is nearly here and it always brings new eyes to the sport but ProLine Golf isn’t around just for the four big weeks of the year. 

We’ll be covering events every week across the PGA Tour and DP World Tour, looking for the same thing each time: big prices that don’t reflect the true chances of a player. 

The majors may carry the history and the headlines, but there are opportunities in regular tour stops all season long.

If you’ve spent years betting football or racing, golf offers something that most other sports don’t, proper prices. 

You’ll see 100/1 and beyond on players who are only a couple of good rounds away from being right in the mix. Markets can be slow to react. Form can be hidden in plain sight. A player can drift all week and suddenly be leading by Saturday afternoon.

In April we advised Ricardo Gouveia in the Australian PGA Championship at 275/1 (1/5, 12 places).

Prior to the Australian PGA Championship, Gouveia had been quietly trending. His approach play had improved across his previous few starts and the coastal layout suited his ball-striking profile.  

In a field heavily focused on the market leaders, 275/1 looked stretched.

He placed T8th with a score of -12 giving us (+54pts) on the Sunday evening.

And in golf, those big-price places can often return more than a lower-priced win. That’s the difference when you position at the bigger number.

You don’t need constant winners in this sport. One properly placed outsider can make a month look very different. 

And with more young players coming through and the tours growing in popularity again, there’s no better time to start following it properly.

I’ve watched The Open with my dad every year since I was young. He’s always loved golf. It was just something we did Thursday through Sunday, on in the background or properly sitting down to watch the closing stretch. 

In 2023, I was watching it with him again. 

A few weeks before, Brian Harman had caught my eye. He wasn’t one of the headline names, he wasn’t being tipped everywhere like the big hitters but he’d been sharp with his irons and unplayable on and around the greens. He’s also a left-hander, same as me and I’ve always paid a bit more attention to lefties. 

The price was 110/1. It felt too big. 

I backed him each-way, just a few quid knowing that even if he placed I would of earned a good few beer tokens. By Sunday evening he was lifting the Claret Jug. That wasn’t a wild guess to anyone who watches golf week-in-week-out. 

It was a reminder that golf prices can be off, especially when everyone is focused on the same five names at the top. 

That week stuck with me. And it’s a big part of why ProLine Golf exists.

Tournament golf is different.

Each week, we send out a structured set of selections for the tournament. Typically around ten positions per event, covering the board properly rather than focusing on just one or two short-priced names.  

Over the last four months, our average advised odds have been around 60/1. That’s deliberate. We’re positioning at numbers that give room to move.
